Felt Food

This was an incredibly easy and super fun impromptu project I did with Bella. Feeding into her obsession with play food, we made three types of pasta out of some felt we had on hand. She was exceptionally proud of her duties as Official Stuffer and Thread Trimmer. I especially like the red thread we used on the brown ravioli.

Square Ravioli

Cut two 3" squares

Sew together three sides, leaving a 1/4" side seam

Stuff with fill

Complete last seam to close entirely

Cut edges with pinking shears

Half-Circle Ravioli

Cut 3" circles

Fold in Half

Sew together 3/4 of the way, leaving 1/4" side seam

Stuff with fill

Complete last seam to close entirely

Cut round edges with pinking shears

Bow-Tie Pasta

Cut 3"x1" rectangles

Cut short edges with pinking shears

Pinch in the middle

Hand sew middle fold

Funniest Ecards Ever

I often tell myself that I'm on someecards.com to brighten someone else's day, but truth be told I've spent such an extensive amount of time perusing these hilarious cards that I should probably be ashamed. But I'm not. In fact, I've never known anyone strong enough to resist the powers of the someecards time warp. It's like the funnies only, well, funny.

I've been sharing/offending my loved ones with these for some time now.

Oh boy Oh boy Oh boy! Okay, it's not exactly edible, but I really do love this enough to eat it. Artist Audrey Kawasaki is one I like to keep tabs on and she has just announced the upcoming sale of her latest and greatest print titled, "She Who Dares." Oooooh. Just in time for winter. Sale happens Sunday November 16th @ 6:00pm (PST). -a

One of my good friends asked if I planned to live here with Frodo (I'm thinking Legolas is more my type) but I just can't stop thinking about this house. This was built by an incredibly creative and resourceful family in Wales for next to nothing, and are working to build an eco-community of these homes. They are offering opportunities to learn how to do this, all you have to do is get yourself there and volunteer! (and camp out) I daydream about this.

An introduction and a teaser. Meet Bella-on the right (Angie's little one) and Eva (my buddha). Two best friends who insist that they are sisters. Who's going to argue that. These two are currently in to Tegan and Sara, the Foo Fighters, and fairy wings.

And, this is a little glimpse of what's in store for Nickertynoo's Etsy shop. Angela makes the most adorable kids capes that you've ever seen. She has re-designed her pattern and has some awesome new fabrics...keep these open ended gifts in mind for the holidays. Capes are great for imaginative play. Our girls want to wear them all the time.

Hi, I'm Christina. Aka Nina. (but please please do not call me Tina) I'll be your main blogger on this journey, with my Nickertynoo co-hort Angela guest blogging from time to time. If you caught on to the title of this post, you might guess that I have a thing for Amy Sedaris (I do). In addition to Ms. Sedaris, I love sewing, cooking, snowboarding, and riding my bike.
